I had eczema very very badly until I was 21. After that torture I got polycystic ovaries and my hair began to thin at the temples and I grew a beard. And I mean a proper beard. I'm a woman by the way. Although obviously I don't feel like one. My pubic hair grows down to my knees. I can't remove it as it causes the eczema to flare up. Laser treatment for the beard did not work and so I have to pluck but I never manage to get it all and theres always regrowth visible somewhere.. Forget beautiful. I would have settled for being normal. All those stupid "real women real beauty"type campaigns are just crass. They are still reasonably attractive. You can't celebrate ugly or so wide of the normal societal mark it's freakish and belongs in a medical text book or the circus. Give me break. And stuff having an amusing personality to compensate. I'm no fun either. So there. Let me know when you want to start parading us female furry freaks to flog Dove soap or if Galliano starts using models with different skin diseases. I'm ok fully clothed and covered in make-up. But I wish I could just be. Just wash face, wear shorts in the summer. Not have to maintain constant vigilance and prepare face and hair before leaving the house. Yes it could be worse, I could be paralysed and unable to pluck the beard at all. Please god kill me if I can't keep up the facade and keep hiding. I did used to have a sense of humour but I'm worn out.

I just want to say I think this is a BRILLIANT idea and I wish I got the chance to write on the sofa! I've recently made a group on facebook called,

If anyone is on facebook, it would be great if you can join. I want it to be a place of support and unity against this silly idea that we have to aspire to look like the air-brushed unobtainable..
